Motor vehicle accidents happen multiple times every day on roads in Tennessee and elsewhere. While many accidents are minor, others can be serious, leaving victims with life-changing injuries. These injuries may prevent victims from pursuing careers or enjoying activities they participated in before being injured. Multiple-vehicle accidents, like the one that recently happened in Macon County, can result in many injured victims.

One crash leads to another

A recent Macon County crash involved four vehicles that collided in back-to-back collisions. The first collision involved a tractor-trailer that was traveling east on Highway 52. The truck was struck by a westbound Honda that crossed the center double-yellow lines. The driver of the Honda was injured in the accident and is now facing charges related to the crash.

The second collision involved a Honda CRV and a GMC Yukon. The driver of the Yukon suffered minor injuries and was charged for his role in the accident. The circumstances of both collisions are still under investigation. Fortunately, in this case, no one was seriously injured.

Victims may need much help after an accident

When someone is injured in a motor vehicle accident, they may suffer from complications in the future. Not only does a victim have to pay for medical expenses related to their injuries but may also require physical therapy and other ongoing treatments. Fortunately, Tennessee victims have the right to file a civil lawsuit against the party at fault when negligence contributed to the crash. Compensation from a successful claim can help victims pay for those expenses.
